Kazha is a rock band founded in 2009 by Japanese singer-songwriter Kazuha Oda and guitarist Hideki Matsushige. Initially based in Japan, the band has since relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, and tours extensively across the United States.
Formation and Musical Style
Kazuha Oda, a classically trained singer, transitioned to rock music and collaborated with Hideki Matsushige to form Kazha. The band's music blends elements of hard rock and heavy metal, characterized by powerful vocals and dynamic guitar work.
Albums and Notable Works
Kazha released their debut album, "Overture," in 2010, followed by "Evolution" in 2013 and a self-titled album, "Kazha," in 2018. Their most recent work is the acoustic album "Reflection," released in 2022.
International Presence and Performances
The band made their U.S. debut at San Francisco's Asian Heritage Street Celebration and has since performed at various anime conventions and festivals, including Nan Desu Kan and Anime Los Angeles. They have also shared stages with artists like George Lynch and LA Guns.
Connection to Memphis
In 2015, Kazha moved their base to Memphis, Tennessee, and now serve as official ambassadors of Music Export Memphis, representing the city's rich musical heritage.
